Yuki Tsunoda, a driver for Visa Cash App RB, has surely been one of the highlights of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
With Daniel Ricciardo having a difficult season, the Japanese driver has nearly single-handedly propelled RB to sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Speaking on the Sky Sports F1 Podcast, Yuki Tsunoda had just had another excellent performance at Imola.
It has become extremely tough for half of the grid to score points because of the division between the top five teams and the bottom five teams.
After a poor qualifying effort and a losing strategy bet in the race, Fernando Alonso was the unfortunate driver who was left out of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Once again, Tsunoda was the driver in possession of the lone point that was available, defeating Nico Hulkenberg, the season’s second surprise gift.

The grid for the upcoming season is beginning to take shape, but the Red Bull camp still has to guarantee three slots for 2025.
With a contract that expires at the conclusion of the 2028 season, Max Verstappen is unlikely to leave Mercedes, even though team principal Toto Wolff is making a valiant effort to entice him to the German team in hopes of replacing Lewis Hamilton.
Since Sergio Perez’s contract is set to expire following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, his situation has become increasingly problematic.
Perez is reportedly unhappy with the parameters that are now on the table despite rumors originating from Mexico that he has already received an offer for a new contract.
Both Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo, his teammate, have acknowledged that they hope to join the Red Bull squad as early as 2025.
At this point, though, it seems like Helmut Marko and Christian Horner are hesitant to give the Japanese driver a promotion.
Considering how long he has been a part of the Formula 1 paddock, it’s easy to forget that he is only 24 years old.
Yuki Tsunoda is focused on making RB successful this season.
When asked if he was thinking about Sergio Perez’s Red Bull seat, Tsunoda responded, “As a driver, you always want to be in the team and the vehicle that is performing well, and certainly Red Bull is one of the strongest cars on the grid right now.
“You always aim for the Red Bull car, especially after being a part of the Red Bull family for so long.”
It would be a lie for me to pretend that I’m not aiming for a Red Bull car. However, I’m also quite pleased with the RB, V-CARB vehicle and I’m really [a lot] loving the development our team is making this season.
“At the moment, all I can do to maintain taking the shape out of the car is to keep concentrating on performance; I’m simply continually trying to see how much we can accomplish.
“That would be fantastic, but there’s the story about whether or not I can go to Red Bull,”
On the other hand, the truth is that Red Bull and I haven’t really spoken much.
“I’m doing my thing, and we’ll see what happens later.”
Yuki Tsunoda might consider moving on from Red Bull.
Whatever Tsunoda performs this season, it seems doubtful that he will be considered to race for Red Bull in 2025.
But other teams in the paddock are taking notice of his performances.
Tsunoda is reportedly “in the mix” to compete for a revitalized Haas team in the upcoming season.
There have been rumors that he would sign on with Aston Martin as a reserve driver for the upcoming season, hoping to gain a spot in the race when they pair up with Honda in 2026.
No matter where he plays next season, Karun Chandhok has apologized for writing him off before the season even started. His performances are extremely deserving of recognition.
Yuki Tsunoda has everything it takes to be a long-term Formula 1 great; all he needs is the appropriate car to help him reach his goals.
