Casemiro’s Tribute to Paul Scholes: The Midfield Partner of His Dreams
In an interview with Manchester United’s official site, midfielder Casemiro heaped praise on club legend Paul Scholes, expressing his desire to have played alongside the United icon.
Reflecting on his admiration, Casemiro said, “As a child, I watched many United games, and Scholes stood out in midfield with his aggression and long-range shooting.
If I could choose one past player to partner with, it would be him. His career at United, the trophies he won, and his lasting impact on the club deserve immense admiration.”
Casemiro also reminisced about the midfielders he enjoyed playing with throughout his career, highlighting Luka Modric and Toni Kroos at Real Madrid.
“Winning makes it even more special. Modric and Kroos, with whom I shared many finals and great moments, will always be significant to me. Playing with them, as well as others like Paulinho, Renato, Bruno Fernandes, and Eriksen, has been a joy.”
Casemiro concluded by acknowledging his former teammate Hector Herrera at Porto and current Manchester United teammates, noting the camaraderie and success he has enjoyed with all of them.
