After an end-of-season evaluation, Manchester United reportedly made a final decision regarding Mason Greenwood.

Following an internal inquiry into his behavior by Man United, Greenwood was sent on loan to Getafe for the 2018–19 season.

In January 2022, he was taken into custody due to accusations pertaining to content that was shared on social media.

On February 2 of last year, charges against the 22-year-old—including attempted rape and assault—were dismissed.

Greenwood made 36 appearances in all competitions while playing for Getafe, tallying 10 goals.

Although his future at Manchester United is still uncertain, a report suggests he has other plans.

Erik ten Hag remained manager after the evaluation, which placed a lot of emphasis on the Englishman’s future.

The club has determined that Greenwood will not be reintegrated into the first team roster, according to HITC.

He is expected to be valued at £50 million when he is put on the transfer market.

In addition, the club has informed potential suitors of their preference for a long-term agreement; now, a Champions League team is in negotiations to acquire the player.

However, Man United has not ruled out a loan move, and they have positioned themselves to be in a stronger negotiating position come summertime.

His contract has a one-year option that the team plans to exercise, keeping him committed until 2026.

The deal guarantees Man United the upper hand in any upcoming talks about his sale.

Greenwood, who has played 129 senior games for the team and scored 35 goals in all competitions, is unlikely to add to his Man United tally.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s direction, he made his Red Devils debut in a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain back in March 2019.
