Neymar auctions off golden boot and breaks record with R$21 million to donate to disadvantaged children and youth ✨✨

Neymar , forward of the Saudi soccer club Al-Hilal , auctioned this Monday some 18-karat gold-plated boots decorated with precious stones, among other objects, to raise funds to support social programs, amid criticism against the player for a beach privatization project.

The auction, organized by the Neymar Jr. Institute at a private sports club located in the Brazilian city of São Paulo, included FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain jerseys signed by himself and former teammates such as Mbappé and Messi.

In addition, the footballer offered the highest bidder experiences, such as playing a game of poker with him , racing on the kart track of his beach mansion and traveling to the Saudi capital to attend an Al-Hilal match .

This is the fourth auction of this type organized by Neymar’s NGO, which focuses on educational projects for children from disadvantaged families who live in the neighborhood where the footballer grew up in Praia Grande, on the coast of the state of São Paulo.

The event was held amid criticism of the forward for the alleged benefit he would obtain from a legislative project that aims to open to privatization areas adjacent to beaches, which currently belong to the Brazilian State .

Actress Luana Piovani was the first to launch the accusation against the striker on social media, who recently announced his participation in a construction company’s plans to build luxury buildings facing the sea in northern Brazil.

In response, Neymar called her “crazy” and asked her to put a shoe “in her mouth”, a reaction that has only fueled the controversy and increased the number of criticisms leveled by other famous Brazilians against the footballer.
