Declan Rice had an unforgettable experience with his England teammates in the Great British Bake Off special

As one of four English players to compete in a Great British Bake Off special, Declan Rice’s experience was one to forget. Rice plays midfield for Arsenal.

The 24-year-old, who was baking alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson, and Kieran Trippier, found it difficult in the tent.

Paul Hollywood from Bake Off encouraged each player to create a gingerbread version of their favorite football player for a video that would be posted on Channel 4 Sport’s YouTube channel.

Trippier selected Wayne Rooney, Jordan Henderson baked Paul Gascoigne, and Rice selected John Terry. Alexander-Arnold selected Steven Gerrard.

While some celebrities found baking far simpler than others, Rice found it difficult right away.

He said: “Place the cardboard template on the biscuit dough and carefully cut out the shape of the footballer.

“What am I cutting with, this? I don’t even know which way it’s supposed to be used!

“I don’t even know where I’m going, what I’m doing.”

Arsenal’s summer signing just couldn’t get the knack and his final product had the rest of his teammates in hysterics.

As he was reviewing each gingerbread, Hollywood lifted Rice’s biscuit off the table, only for Terry’s head to fall off into his hand!

The England players were left sprawled over one another, relishing in their teammate’s error that caused him to finish last out of the four.

Trippier finished third, leaving Henderson and Alexander-Arnold, his old friend from Liverpool, to wait to find out who won.

Following the announcement of Trent as the winner, Hollywood congratulated him with the renowned “Hollywood Handshake.”

Speaking after the win, the Reds defender stated: “I’m over the moon, I’ll be honest.

“I set myself the challenge of trying to win from the start.  I think I’ve got a natural talent for it!”

Trippier then reacted to his third-place finish, admitting: “At least my head didn’t fall off like Dec’s!”
